the culture, and reduce drug trafficking, critics have raised concerns over its effectiveness in
controlling illegal immigration, source of finances to fund it, environmental challenges, and
sending the wrong message to the rest of the world, which makes it not a viable government
project.

Building the wall is not the solution to illegal immigration in the United States
Background on the subject
Immigration is one of the most divisive and controversial issues in the United States. For
decades, there has been a wide range of proposals concerning immigration reforms, such as
amnesty, sanctuary cities, closing borders, and guest worker programs. However, in the recent
past, the issue of building a wall along the edge of Mexico and the United States has aggravated
the matter leading to the government shutdown. Therefore, this paper will discuss the reason
given by each opposing party and then conclude on the need to not building the wall.
Arguments for building the wall
