The Final Paper will be an analysis of a formative work of English literature. For this paper, you will create an in-depth analysis of a central work that was studied in the course. Choose a primary text studied during the course. Analyze how your chosen text is both influenced by and influential to the cultural values of the time in which it was written. Critiquing Sources
During the period of British slave trade, the British purchased and ferried Africans to the
America. Some of the slaves survived the unwarranted treatment and managed to document their
life encounters. Although many authors give accounts of the life of Olaudah Equiano, some of
the articles have inappropriate information or biasness while other sources give the account as
explicated by Oluadah. This paper critiques the various accounts given by different authors
regarding the life of Olaudah Equiano, also called Gustavas Vassa and especially from the
collections from the interesting narrative of Olaudah Equiano as authored by him. In this
account, Olaudah tells his experiences on British slave trade and the entire society towards the
close of 18th century.

This article explicates the life of Equiano and his slavery experiences in Georgia. This
article contains very critical information as it continues to elaborate how Oluadah began his
business besides the slavery encounters in voyage with the captains. As such, this article will
give detailed information on the slavery and how Equiano managed to somewhat, as he claims,
to “purchase freedom.” According to Barron, Equiano was not only mocked by the whites but
also abused while others refused to pay for the fruits and products they purchased.

Although this article has some enlightening information on british slave trade, this article
lacks basis in particular areas like the birth of Equiano and the engagement in Christianity. As
such, this article will be important to demonstrating how different sources give varying
information. Notably, some sources lack credibility. Therefore, this article will show how slavery
and slave trade undermined the blacks.

Equaino was one of the abolitionists in the United States. This article claims the role
played by the abolitionists towards claiming freedom among the slaves. The article further
demonstrates the role played by Oluadah Equiano towards the drafting of the Slave Trade and
Slavery Abolition Act. In light of this, this article will be significant towards the evaluation of
the roles of abolitionists and the extent to which slavery influenced discrimination and prejudice
among the societies.
