Measure the ball
socket depth on
the pad as shown
to the right. Zero
out the caliper
with the special
tooling on the
caliper. Then place
the tooling over
the ball socket and
measure the depth
of the ball socket.
Ensure that you
are in the deepest
portion of the ball
socket. Move the
caliper left/right
and up/down to
make sure you are
at the deepest
section. If the
measurement is
larger than
2.20mm (for 475 )
and 5.00mm (for
675 ) the pad will
need to be
repaired.

Use 675 /475 orbit
pad wing gauges
(103119202/10311

determine the pad
reusability. If the
gauge doe not fit
at all the three
points ( see the
pictures on the
right ) the wing is
good .
For Pad knife edge
wear, if the nonwashed out metal
surface of the edge
can still be seen and
the washedout area
does not extend to
ball seat OD. Also,
there is no broken
TSP inserts above the
edges. The pad will be
fine to use.

Standard Work Instructions
Go / No – Go gauges :
Fully clean the clamp plate and follow the below SWI steps to determine if it is reusable, repairable or junk
Step
1
Instructions
Examine the four faces
of the hinges of the
clamp plate (see figure
1). If you see a small
amount
of
wear,
measure the distance
between the hinges to
make sure that they are
not worn too much. See
step 2 for how to
measure the distance
between the hinges
and what is the
maximum wear limit.
If you see gouging or
pitting remove the
bushings and segregate
the clamp plate for
repair, see (figure2)
For the lug wear, if the
wear does not reach

the lug bore send it for
repair. See figure 3

2
Use go /no-go gauge #
103119232 (475)
and/or 103119246
(675) to measure both
distances between the
hinges on the clamp
plate. Side put the
gauge and rotate,
insert one end and
attempt to rotate the
gauge around . If the
gauge does not fit, then
reuse the clamp plate ,
Gauge does not fit – good
if it fits then the clamp
plate will need to be
repaired .
The maximum lug
distance as follows:
1- 675: 33.10mm
2- 475: 28.40mm
Gauge does fit – bad

If you have removed the two
sleeves from the clamp plate,
examine the two sleeve bores
in the clamp plate. If you see
scoring, scratches or
deformation, or any kind of
damage , junk the serial
number in Qtrac then remove
the bushings, spacer , sleeves
and segregate the clamp plate
to be recycled
Examine the two surfaces that
touch the wings on the pad. If
you see wear, measure the
depth of the wear. If the wear
is smaller than 0.20 mm, you
can use the clamp plate again.
If the wear is larger than 0.20
mm, then remove the
bushings, spacer , sleeves and
send for repair.
Examine the O-ring grooves
on the bottom of the clamp
plate. If you see erosion or a
large amount of damage, junk
the serial number in Qtrac
then remove the bushings,
spacer, sleeves and segregate
the clamp plate to be recycled

Examine the two kicker
location features on the clamp
plate. If you see a large
amount of damage or wear,
junk the serial number in
Qtrac then remove the
bushings, spacer, sleeves and
segregate the clamp plate to
be recycled
Remove the bushings if
broken or loose and check the
bushing holes for any
damages or enlarging.
The maximum bushing hole ID
is as follows:
123-

PD675 pad bushing hole :
14.996mm to 15.00mm
PD675 oversize bushing hole:
15.885mm to 15.889mm
PD475 bushing hole:
13.00mm 13.20mm
Examine how flat the clamp
plate is. If the clamp plate is
bent, junk the serial number
in Qtrac then remove the
bushings, spacer , sleeves and
segregate the clamp plate to
be recycled
