Career Documents: Phase Two: Resume and Job Application Letter Overview You will need to complete Phase One before you can work on Phase Two of this project. Phase Two of this project will ask you to use the job advertisement that you selected from Phase One job application(In the file) to create your career documents: the resume and the cover letter, also known as the job letter application. Assignment Parameters You will generate two main documents regardless of what the advertisement requests from you: a Cover Letter(at least one page, single space) and a Resume(at least one page, single space). Any additional materials required will depend on the position you seek. A graduate position may require, for example, a writing sample. If this is your selected position, you will include this in your submission as well. If you are intending to apply to graduate school or if you want to use your documents to apply for an existing position, I will gladly help you work on extra documents beyond this assignment. Please contact me for additional help. Besides the Cover Letter and Resume, I will be using your selected job advertisement to help me evaluate your writing. In this way, you can think of me as proxy for the hiring agent. Questions to consider: Are you… meeting (or will meet) all the (reasonable) requirements put forth in the ad? (Note that may have to project some of these requirements, e.g., degree or skills you may acquire in a future class.) creating compelling language and formatting (e.g. error-free, confident, and supportive of your abilities and qualifications)?persuading your reader to hire you, given the criteria set forth or implied by the ad?providing effective support for the claims you make about your qualifications?listing jobs, relevant coursework, or experience with explanations of skills learned or successes achieved? What to submit here: 1. Cover letter 2. Polished and developed resume (I highly suggest making your resume a PDF prior to submission – Word can alter your spacing in different versions) 3. Copy of the job advertisement you are using as a guidelinefiles:the first doc is the copy of requirement and the rubric.the second one is the copy of job I want to apply.the third doc is the phase one job application, please read it carefully and write the phase two assignment. There are many information you can use from the phase one.

SUBJECT: Job Application
I am a junior student from Miami University, and major in media and culture. I have been
following your advertisement, and mostly that is job-related. The Nexstar Broadcasting, INC.
Offers a wide range of experience and entertainment to those follow the media group closely and
this is what prompted me to follow closely all the information that you share. The advertisements
show that the company is willing to employ more employees due to the vacancies that are
available in the company.
I have come across an advert that you made regarding a vacancy in the organization. The
advertisement was made in Ohio means jobs. Therefore, I seek to apply for the role of assistant
news director that was advertised on 2019-02-10. I have followed all the requirements that are
required for this position and is a major in the field I have accomplished most of the conditions.
The basic requirement is met, and this makes me the best candidate for the job. The first
qualifications are excellent communication skills, proficiency with computers, ability to meet
deadlines and have the ability to effectively listen and communicate with a team to shape a
solution. At the end of the year, I will have attained my bachelor’s degree in media and culture
since I am in my major level.
The job advertised has a wide gap in the years of experience required, but that does not hinder
me from pursuing the career. I understand that if an individual has some basic requirements that
they have met, they are good to seek the job since they are fit for the same. According to the job
advertisement it is not specified whether it is fundamentally essential that all the requirements
are met. Therefore, the job advertisement is an open one, and anyone who has basic requirements
can as well apply.
The reason why I have chosen this job advertisement and identified it as the best fit is that it
requires an assistance role in the news director docket. Since I will be coming out of college, I
will need some training and experience to establish my skills well. Working under the guidance
of another person will help make me gain the skills that I require and those that I could have
during my college training. Throughout the advertisement, I have identified various issues that
employees require from a potential candidate, and I will ensure that as I go through my practice,
I will meet such requirements.
The advertisement has the duties and responsibilities that will be undertaken by the assistant
news director. First, the assistant news director should assist the news director as the name
suggests. The assistance will be in planning, staffing, training and to perform evaluations for the
news department. The assistant news director will be required to assist in developing news
coverage strategy for the station and its related website. There will assign projects to the staff

and verification of meeting deadlines amongst the team and ensure that there is the achievement
of viewer rating goals. All the roles assigned addressed in this advertisement are in line with
what I have covered in college, and this means I will be able to deliver well in the organization if
I get the opportunity to serve under the news director of Nexstar Broadcasting, INC. I hope that
the company is going to consider my application when I submit for the position advertised.
